The French love dogs but when life gets tough they use the expression vie de chien or dog’s life. The same is true in English but in New York City most dogs are having a ball so life can’t get any better.

To start, one estimate puts the US pet industry at an annual earning of over 58 billion dollars. If you visit New York City don’t be shocked at the sight of someone walking half dozen or more breeds of dogs.

Being a professional dog walker or a groomer is a prestigious full time job one can bark for. If you don’t want the assistance of a dog walker then you can find daycares for dogs in most neighborhoods. 

Another service being offered is the mobile grooming service which gives dogs a bath and a total makeover. This may include a mani-pedi with a vibrant color nail polish. The cost of such services runs into hundreds of dollars and I have not begun discussing the most basic item; food!

This is when I am glad I have a low maintenance very independent cat. Of course when your best friend is a dog, nothing is good enough. No wonder doG lovers see the word backwards.
