Touria Ghaffari
Touria Ghaffari has been a teacher and consultant in the field of education for over 25 years.
She has a B.A. in International Affairs and an M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and currently resides in New York City, where she teaches general English to immigrants and international students as well as TOEFL and IELTS to those wishing to study at universities in the U.S., the U.K. and Australia.
Touria also assists prospective students with their university application process. Touria has years of experience in media and broadcasting that enhance her skills as an instructor. In April 2015, at the Long Island ESOL conference, Touria presented the idea of English as the Language of Unity. She is a firm believer that in the world of today, English has become the principle channel of communication. Sharing a language and understanding the culture linked to it allows individuals to exchange ideas and reach a greater degree of compatibility, thus helping reduce tensions at a time of never-ending conflict. You can read her article on the need to learn English in the summer 2015 edition of New York State's TESOL publication IDIOM here.
